To acquire or deserve as a result of effort or action is to earn. This piece questions what I value. Light and its ubiquitous state has adopted a misconception of being given. I allow the viewer to disperse this luxury that I remove from my own control. The neons illuminate a warm gold glow as symbolism of its worth. The motion of the opening works as an extension of how much is earned. The cardboard box suggests solitude and vulnerability through its crushed facade and compromised structure.
